A long time ago I wrote a similar article covering Ionic 1 templates. Back then, it was a very important topic for me. I was developing several Ionic applications and one of my biggest concerns was that they were all looking alike.
Even then I was immensely allergic to bad design. Whoever worked with Ionic 1 knows how ugly default template looked like. Technically, I should not use past tense as Ionic 1 is still a usable framework.
You know what, to hell with it. Ionic 1 is no better than a zombie, we should look forward in the direction of Ionic 2|3 and what it can do for us.
I would like to start this article series covering ionicthemes.com exceptional Ion2FullApp Elite template.
Before we start I need to do a full disclosure. The people behind ionicthemes.com are, in a way, patrons of this site. What’s important, I was never asked, nor paid (in any way) to write an article covering this template, I’m doing this of my own volition.
As this is a premium template, if you want to support me and my site, you can purchase this template using this link. In any other case, use the link provided at the end of this article.
What is ..
This template is the ELITE version of an existing basic|pro Ion2FullApp template. Each version offers a bigger and bigger selection of available pages and components. To my knowledge, Basic/Pro/Elite versions consist of 34/40/48 pages and components, so pick carefully.
Unlike Basic and Pro versions, Ion2FullApp ELITE version provides every feature you will ever need for your Ionic application. In retrospect, “ever” is probably too strong word, but take a look at this list of available features:
- Admob Monetization support
- Form validations including custom validators
- Geolocation integration
- Google Maps integration
- Google Places integration
- Image cropper
- Image picker
- Image Slider
- In App Browser
- Multi Language with RTL support
- Social login native support integration (Twitter, Facebook, Google)
- Social Sharing
- Video player
- And much more
Full feature list can be found here.
Currently, this is the template of my choice. This may and probably will change in the future, as I don’t want to same looking app clones, but for now, this is it.
It (mostly) has everything I need and require for Ionic development. Why mostly? It’s missing some features I would like to see. For example, GitHub login support and to some extent dedicated audio player. Thankfully, this may change in the future as ionicthemes.com developers are actively appealing to users to provide them with additional requests. Remember, where there’s a need there’s an opportunity.
There’s one more thing I’m allergic to, and it’s bad documentation. This is precisely what blew me away; provided documentation is excellent. Let’s be honest, some of the provided features require advanced knowledge of the Ionic framework. You will simply not be able to implement these pages|components without good and detailed documentation.
